The state of Michigan presented John A. Carlin, Sr. with a law license in 1972. Since receiving his law license in 1972, Johnnie has been found guilty of misconduct on several occasions, some of which is set forth below.
 
1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 
 
In early 1980 the Attorney Discipline Board charged Johnny with a variety of misconduct. As a consequence of his misconduct, the Board punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
 
2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 
 
The Attorney Discipline Board found Johnny guilty of the following:
  1. Neglect in probating an estate
  2. Refused to return calls or answer letters from probate client
  3. Failed to respond to requests from disciplinary investigator
  4. Failed to take any action on a probate matter for over two years
For his misconduct in this matter, the Disciplinary Board punished Johnny by suspending his law license for one year.
 
3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 
 
During his third trip to the Misfit Tree, the Disciplinary Board found Johnny guilty of:
  1. Billing client an excessive fee (cheater)
  2. Instructing someone other than his client to endorse money orders payable to the client and then depositing the funds in his own personal account
  3. Unlawfully converted a client’s settlement funds to himself
  4. Refused to return client phone calls
  5. Failed to inform clients of the status of their cases
For his third visit to the Misfit Tree, the Disciplinary Board punished Johnny by suspending his law license for 180 days.
 
4th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 
 
On his fourth trip to the Misfit Tree, the Disciplinary Board found Johnny guilty of:
  1. Failed to file personal injury lawsuit for client, thereby allowing the statute of limitations to expire which caused the case to be dismissed
  2. Johnnie never told his client that he let the statute of limitations expire
  3. Refused to communicate with his client
  4. Abandoned two clients involving separate civil cases
  5. Refused to respond to requests from disciplinary investigators
For his fourth visit to the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Attorney Disciplinary Board punished Johnny by gifting him with a 90-day suspension of his law license.
 
As we speak (April 2012) John is practicing law 17000 West 10 Mile Street in Southfield, Michigan which is a suburb of Detroit.
