Attorney Michael Hausman of Woodbury, NY; ethical gnome

The state of New York provided Michael J. Hausman with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from the Albany School of Law.

FYI: Albany Law School is ranked as the 138th best law school in the country out of 202 ABA accredited schools.

The Appellate Division’s Second Judicial Department Disciplinary Board found Mikey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to properly supervise nonlawyer office manager
  • Failure to supervise office manager led to embezzlement of more than $200,000 from client funds

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As one would suspect, Mikey and his firm fail to mention the misconduct set forth above on their self-serving website at www.hausmanlaw.com. Apparently, they decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients so that he would not limit his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. May 2020), Mikey practices with the Hausman Law Group PC at 130 Crossways Park Drive in Woodbury, New York.
