Attorney Louis Karol of New York City; ethical dwarf

The state of New York provided Louis P. Karol with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from Cardozo University School of Law.

The Appellate Division’s Second Judicial Department Disciplinary Board found Louie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to properly supervise nonlawyer office manager
• Failure to supervise office manager led to embezzlement of more than $200,000 from client funds

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Louie by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As one would suspect, Louie and his firm fail to mention the misconduct set forth above on their self-serving website at www.moritthock.com. Apparently, they decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients so that he would not limit his future victim pool.
