Attorney Michael J. Collins of Madison, WI; repeat offender, ethical elf

 
The state of Wisconsin presented Michael J. Collins with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from the University of Wisconsin.
 
Michael has been found guilty of misconduct on at least three occasions by the Wisconsin Supreme Court. As punishment for his misconduct in 1989 and again in 1995, the apologists sitting on the Wisconsin Surpeme Court punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand on both occasions.
 
Mike’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree
 
For his 3rd trip to the Misfit Apple Tree, the Supreme Court found Mike guilty of eight (8) counts of misconduct, which are as follows:
  1. Refused to cooperate with disciplinary investigators
  2. Failed to deposit a settlement check into his trust account
  3. Failed to comply with a court order
  4. Did not inform client in divorce case of upcoming hearing
  5. Failed to properly introduce matters for client at hearing in a custody matter
  6. Failed to timely file a guardian ad litem report even though ordered to do so on more than one occasion by the court
  7. Did not appear at two consecutive court hearings despite being ordered to appear
As a consequence of being found guilty of misconduct for the third time, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Surpeme Court punished Mike by gifting him with a 60-day suspension of his law license.
 
As we speak (ca. April 2012) Michael is practicing his brand of law with Collins Law Office SC at 15 North Pinckney Street in Madison.
