Attorney Christopher Freeman of Chicago, IL; thieving liar

The state of Illinois presented Christopher Donald Freeman with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from Northern Illinois School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Chris guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Misappropriated [stole] $43,028 from the workers’ compensation and injury settlements of nine clients over a period of seven months
  • Failed to maintain records of his client trust account
  • When one client and a referring attorney in another client’s matter inquired about the settlements in their cases, Chris falsely told them that he had not yet received the settlement funds in their matters
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Counsel punished Chris by gifting him with a complimentary 5-month suspension of his law license.

And lastly, because Attorney Misfits in Illinois are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else Chris was never criminally charged with grand theft.

As we speak (ca. June 2020), Chris practices with the Law Offices of Christopher D. Freeman at 155 North Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Illinois.
