Attorney Dalton Grief of Batavia, IL; ethical ogre

The state of Illinois presented Dalton Payne Grief with a law license in 1965 after he graduated from the John D. Marshall School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Dalton guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to reduce a contingent fee agreement to writing
• Neglected a client's wrongful termination matter
• Misrepresented [lied] about the status of wrongful termination matter to the client
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Dalton!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Counsel punished Dalton by gifting him with a complimentary 9-month suspension of his law license.

As one would suspect, Johnny fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his website at www.cvalawoffices.com. Apparently, Johnny chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

And lastly folks, Dalton’s middle and last name should have raised questions about hiring him as a lawyer given the fact that at least in this case, he provided a double whammy for his client by causing him Pain and Grief. And his office has the appropriate name (Bird) which is exactly the message that this client and likely even more would like to send to Dalton.

As we speak (ca. July 2020), Dalton practices with Dalton P. Grief Attorney at Law at 2493 Bird Lane in Batavia, Illinois.
