Attorney Paul Schlegel of Fort Lauderdale, FL; ethical gremlin

The state of Florida presented Paul James Schlegel with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from Nova Southeastern University School of Law.

FYI: Nova Southeastern is ranked as the 166th best law school in the country out of 202 ABA accredited schools.

The State Bar of Florida found Paulie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to comply with The Florida Bar Rules Regulating Trust Accounts
  • Entered into improper business transaction with a client or knowingly acquired an ownership, possessory, security or other pecuniary interest adverse to a client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Paulie by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

As one would suspect, Paulie fails to mention the above misconduct on his self-serving website at www.schlegel-livingston.com. Apparently, he decided to conceal said information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting their future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. May 2020) Paulie practices with Schlegel Livingston LLC at 100 West Cypress Creek Road in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
