Attorney James McCauley of Fairhope, AL; cheating loser

The state of Alabama presented James McCauley with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law.

The Alabama State Bar Association found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engage in any other conduct that adversely reflects on his fitness to practice law
  • Improperly charged estate hourly rate rather than the 2.5% in and the 2.5% out fee as outlined in the settlement agreement
  • Overbilled and improperly charged the trust while serving as trustee (cheater)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As one would suspect, Jimmy and fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.lawsmithllc.com.  Apparently, he decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients so that he would not limit his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Jimmy practices with James McCauley Smith, Attorney at Law PC at 50 North Greeno Road in Fairhope, Alabama.
