Attorney Anne LaCoste of Tuscaloosa, AL; rubber check aficionado

The state of Alabama presented Anne Dishuck LaCoste with a law license in 1983 after she graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law.

The Alabama State Bar Association found Anne guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Wrote several checks on insufficient funds account (rubber)
  • Failed to properly supervise office staff
  • Failed to account for client funds
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Anne by gifting her with a complimentary 60-day suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. April 2020), Anne practices with Dishuck LaCoste & Smith PC in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
