Attorney Steven Cheuvront of Jonas Ridge, NC; forgery aficionado

The State of North Carolina provided Steven M. Cheuvront with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from the University of West Virginia School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Stevie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation
• Forged client’s initials in client files below the letters VD to falsely indicate that the client had entered voluntarily dismissals in a client matter
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Mikey.

And lastly, because Attorney Misfits in North Carolina are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Stevie was never criminally charged with forgery.
