Attorney Terry Constant of Kenosha, WI; ethical ogre

The State of Wisconsin provided Terry L. Constant with a law license in 1968 after she graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Law.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Terry guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to maintain the requisite client trust account records, such as a
  • Failed to maintain client transaction registers
  • Failed to maintain individual client ledgers
  • Failed to perform monthly reconciliation reports
  • Falsely stated to ethics investigators (Screw you, said Terry!)
  • Improperly jade several non-wire, direct, electronic transfers of funds from his trust account to his business account
  • Made 13 improper withdrawals totaling $11,730 from his trust account for cash over two months
  • Failed to provide client with written notice of receipt of the $175,000 settlement proceeds
  • Failed to promptly deliver and distribute all of the settlement proceeds to his client
  • Failed to provide client with a written settlement statement setting forth a full accounting regarding the property and final distribution of the property

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Terry by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. April 2020), Terry practices with the Terry L. Constant Law Office at 4124 7th Avenue in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
