Attorney John Schaus of Florence, AZ; slacker, loser

The state of Arizona presented John G. Schaus with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law.

FYI: St. Mary’s is ranked as the 167^th best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

The Arizona State Bar found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to communicate with client
• Victims of misconduct were vulnerable
• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
• Failed to visit his client in custody during the two years of his representation
• Failed several times to file motions and orders to have his client transported to court, resulting in delays in the case
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• After being appointed by the court as a Best Interests Attorney on behalf of a minor child in a child custody case, met the child only once in a three-year period
• Failed to meet with or communicate with the child after being appointed as the child’s attorney in a severance matter
• Appeared on his client’s behalf for a severance trial but failed to ascertain his client’s objectives before advocating in favor of denying the severance
• After being appointed to represent a client in a criminal matter Johnny failed to diligently defend his client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
