Attorney Robert Hankes of Chicago; thieving loser

The State of Illinois provided Robert John Hankes with a law license in 2006 after he graduated from the Chicago-Kent College Of Law,

The Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Bobby guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was a partner in the Chicago firm of Vedder Price.

• Double billed for legal services
• Charged the firm for personal expenses
• Billed both a financial institution client and its lessees $24,000 for legal services in connection with a lease
• The $24,000 payment was applied to a once-dormant law firm account that Bobby reactivated and controlled
• Over 18-month period sent eight fabricated invoices to financial institution’s customer companies, collecting more than $108,000 that Bobby applied to the reactivated account
• Charged personal expenses to the reactivated account and collected nearly $80,000
• Personal billing expenses charged to reactivated account included golf fees, dining and travel expenses

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license effective

Lastly, because Attorney Misfits in Illinois are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Bobby was never criminally charged with fraud and/or grand theft.

As we speak (ca. March 2020), Bobby will resume his practice of law in Chicago in March 2021.
