Attorney Gary A. Bowers of Shreveport, LA; ethical leprechaun

 
The state of Louisiana presented Gary A. Bowers with a law license in 1980.
 
At one time Gary Bowers was a Judge of the First Judicial District court for the Parish of Caddo located in Shreveport. During his tenure on the bench, the Judiciary Commission of Louisiana found Gary guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Persisted in using inappropriate words and phrases while on the bench
  2. Consistently impatient, discourteous and insensitive when dealing with attorneys, witnesses and parties appearing before him
  3. Repeatedly abused his judicial office
Specific instances of Gary’s inappropriate comments are as follows:
  1. Referred to a non-party as “some little pimp up in Colorado” and a “little-two-bit hoodlum”
  2. A memorandum to a Mr. Schmipf stated that the motion “contains some very substantial misstates of fact; of course, I am not surprised” (calling the attorney a liar)
  3. Went into a 50 minute tirade against an attorney he disliked, using words like crap, ass and hell
  4. Threatened an attorney in open court by saying “if you ever do it again (file an ethics complaint v Gary), I’m going to come gunning for you, do you understand?”
As a consequence of his misconduct the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Gary by gifting him with a complimentary censure and a ten day suspension from his judicial office.
 
As we speak (ca. April 2012) Gary practices his brand of law with the Bowers Law Firm, LLC at 7600 Fern Avenue in Shreveport.
