Attorney Jose Polanco of Jackson Heights, NY; thief, serial offender

The State of New York provided Jose A. Polanco with a law license in 2000 after he graduated from Syracuse University School of Law.

The Department Disciplinary Board found Jose guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Failed to notice the deficiencies in his account until brought to his attention by ethics investigators
  • Wrote check for $39,839.99 on insufficient funds account (rubber)
  • Wrote check for $5,000.00 on insufficient funds account (rubber)
  • Misappropriated [stole] funds entrusted to him as a fiduciary

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Mikey’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received one (1) complimentary admonition and three (3) letters of caution for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Department Disciplinary Board punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2020) Jose practices at 3737 77th Street in Jackson Heights, New York.
