Attorney John Jankoff of New York City; scamming loser

The state of New York presented John H. Jankoff with a law license in 1968 after he graduated from the New York School of Law.

FYI: New York Law School is ranked as the 139^th best law school in the country out of 202 ABA accredited schools.

The Judicial Department Committee on Professional Standards found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

Respondent John H. Jankoff was admitted to the practice of law in the State of New York by the First Judicial Department on December 23, 1968, under the name John Henry Jankoff. At all times relevant to this proceeding, respondent maintained an office for the practice of law within the First Judicial Department.

• Counseled client to engage in conduct he knew was illegal or fraudulent
• Misrepresented his personal experience and knowledge during a meeting with a client
• Offered suggestions to client on how to transfer money into the United States from other countries in ways that would mask a minister as the ultimate or beneficial owner
• Lied about knowledge of matter to keep potential client interested in hiring him
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the patrons for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Judicial Department Committee on Professional Standards punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
