Attorney John Mahoney of Andover, MA; ethical troll

The state of Massachusetts presented John E. Mahoney with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from Suffolk University Massachusetts School of Law. Johnny also received a law license from New Hampshire in 2001.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct involving his handling of estate matters.

• Named himself as a trust beneficiary on trusts that he drafted
• Failed to file timely accounts
• Failed to maintain account records
• Disbursed funds on behalf of his client before the funds had been received
• Engaged in conflicts of interest
• Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
• Failed to comply with client information requests
• Failed to safeguard client funds

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Bar Overseers punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 3-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Board of Bar Overseers didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Johnny.

As one would suspect, Johnny fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his website at www.lojem.com. Apparently, he decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients to assure that he would not limit his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. December 2019) Johnny practices with the Law Offices of John E. Mahoney at 2 Punchard Avenue in Andover, Massachusetts.
