Attorney Michael Hooker of Northampton, MA; greedy cheater

The state of Massachusetts presented Michael D. Hooker with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from Suffolk University School of Law.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Mikey guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to promptly refund the unearned portion of the $25,000 flat fee (cheater)
• Retained a clearly excessive fee after the death of his aunt
• Failed to offer a refund of unearned portion of his $25,000 fee upon aunt’s death
• Failed to prepare a full accounting of the aunt’s
• assets, made no changes to the aunt’s estate plan
• Failed to conduct a reasonably diligent search for his aunt’s heirs
• Failed to prepare a full accounting of the aunt’s assets

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Bar Overseers punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. October 2020) Mikey practices at 25 Main Street in Northampton, Massachusetts.
