Former Judge Francis Gorman of Toledo, OH; ethical dwarf

The state of Ohio presented Francis Xavier Gorman with a law license in 1967 after he graduated from the University of Toledo School of Law.

FYI: University of Toledo School of Law is ranked as the 145th best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

The Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Fran guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while he was employed as a Toledo Municipal Court judge.

  • Violated obligation to be impartial when he made comments about a defendant’s lack of cooperate and his failures to appear, including making a statement he would “take this into consideration when the jury finds the defendant guilty”
  • Told a defendant, “You don’t need a lawyer, you need a priest.”

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Fran by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2019) Fran practices at 2734 Inwood Drive in Toledo, Ohio.
