Attorney Arlene Kayatt of New York City; ethical goblin

The state of New York presented Arlene Socol Kayatt with a law license in 1987 after she graduated from the Touro University School of Law.

The Judicial Department Committee on Professional Standards found Arlene guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  • Misused two escrow accounts as personal funds
  • Failed to maintain required bookkeeping records

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Professional Standards Committee punished Arlene by gifting her with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. November 2019), Arlene practices at 1601 3rd Avenue in New York, New York.
