Attorney Meredith Ezzell of Wilmington, NC; ethical goblin

The state of North Carolina provided Meredith P. Ezzell with a law license in 1996 after she graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

The Committee on Professional Conduct found Meredith guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to adequately communicate with client
  • Failed to take steps to protect her client's interests upon termination
  • Failed to comply with client information requests
  • Failed to properly supervise office staff
  • Failed to conduct monthly and quarterly reconciliations
  • Failed to review bank statements and cancelled checks
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Defendant elevated her own interest above that of the client’s

As a direct consequence of her misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Meredith by gifting her with a complimentary 3-year suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. October 2019) Meredith practices at 4004 Oleander Drive in Wilmington, North Carolina.
