Attorney Stephen Garcia of Northfield, IL; convicted felon

The state of Illinois presented Stephen Edward Garcia with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology School of Law.

FYI: Illinois Institute of Technology is ranked as the 149th best law school in the country out of 202 ABA accredited schools.

The Disciplinary Commission found Stevie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Convicted in Utah federal court of felony of giving a false bankruptcy oath based on his having failed to disclose to the court, for a 17-month period, his investment in a land development deal
  • Falsely stated to bankruptcy court that another person all aspects of the land development including all legal and business matters
  • Conduct caused actual harm to his client and former law firm

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (November 2019), Stevie practices with Stephen E. Garcia PC at Two Northfield Plaza in Northfield, Illinois.
