Attorney Hilliard Moldof of Ft.Lauderdale; ethical elf
The state of Florida presented Hilliard Moldof with a law license in 1976. Moldof was board certified in the area of criminal trials by the Florida Supreme Court in 1996.
In the past the Florida State Bar charged Hilliard with misconduct while he was engaged in representing Kevin Hoffman in a murder case. Geoffrey Sean Kennedy was the co-defendant in the same murder case. Kennedy was convicted on the murder charge. Hoffman’s case was still pending at the time of Moldof’s misconduct, which is as follows:
Engaged in unlawful ex parte communications on at least two occasions with Kennedy without the prior permission and/or knowledge of his attorney
After the second ex parte contact with Kennedy, Moldof send him $100 through a third party without the knowledge or consent of his attorney
Subsequently, Kennedy advised law enforcement of the $100 payment he received from Moldof. Kennedy specifically claimed that the $100 was a down payment from Moldof for a larger $20,000 bribe.
Law enforcement conducted an investigation. After its criminal investigation, the Dade State Attorney’s Office and Moldof entered into a Deferred Prosecution Agreement.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the 17th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee punished Moldof by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.
As we speak Hilliard Moldof practices his brand of law at 1311 SE 2nd Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.
