The state of California presented Trent Wayne Thompson with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from Oak Brook College of Law & Government Policy in Fresno.

FYI: Oak Brook College is a fourth-tier, unaccredited school that is in the business of accepting losers that could not get accepted at mainstream law schools like USC, University of San Francisco or the University of Pacific.

The State Bar found Trent guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in multiple acts of wrongdoing
• Improperly issued numerous checks from funds in office trust account to pay personal expenses
• Commingled client funds with personal fund
• Failed to maintain proper balance of funds in account entrusted to be held on behalf of a client
• Misappropriated (stole) client funds with gross negligence and used the $5,845.49 to pay for his personal expenses
• Failed to prepare and maintain an appropriate written ledger for his clients
• Failed to perform monthly reconciliation of client trust accounts
• Failed to maintain records of all funds, securities, and other properties of a client coming into his possession

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Trent by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.
