Attorney Edward Anania of Carmel, IN; lying slacker

The state of Indiana presented Edward A. Anania with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from the University of Indiana School of Law.

The Indiana Disciplinary Commission found Eddie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep a client reasonably informed about the status of a matter
  • Failed to respond to client information requests
  • Failed to protect client interests upon termination
  • Failed to return case file to client
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation.
  • Engaging in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to file breach of contract claim on client’s behalf after receiving $5,000 retainer
  • Falsely told client that he did in fact file a complaint
  • Evaded client’s requests for a copy of the nonexistent complaint
  • Upon termination, failed to advise Client on any remaining deadlines for filing a complaint within the statute of limitations

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Indiana Supreme Court punished Eddie by gifting him with a complimentary 180-day suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. August 2019), Eddie practices at 4630 Lisborn Drive in Carmel, Indiana.
