Attorney Gary Villanueva of New York City; ethical goblin

The state of New York presented Gary S. Villanueva with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law.

The Judicial Department Committee on Professional Standards found Gary guilty of the following misconduct.

• Defaulted in four criminal appeals in the 2^nd U.S. Court of Appeals
• Negligence occurred in criminal appeals where important liberty interests were at stake
• Publicly reprimanded by the 2^nd Circuit Court of Appeals

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Professional Standards Committee punished Gary by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
