Former Judge Vanessa White of Anchorage, AK; slacker, loser

The state of Alaska provided Vanessa H. White with a law license in 1988 after she graduated from the University of Puget Sound School of Law.

The Alaska Commission on Judicial Conduct found Vanessa guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to dispose of all judicial matters promptly, efficiently, and fairly
  • Engaged in conduct that brings the judicial office into disrepute
  • Failed to decide a matter in a timely manner
  • Blamed her misconduct entirely on others
  • Signed pay affidavits when a matter was pending before her for more than six months
  • Failed to avoid impropriety or appearance of impropriety
  • Improperly allowed a ripe matter to remain undecided for more than 10 months
  • Failed to comply with the law
  • Failed to acknowledge wrongful nature of her conduct

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Alaska Supreme Court punished Vanessa by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. August 2020), Vanessa practices her brand of law at 211 H Street in Anchorage, Alaska.
