Kennebec Maine DA Maeghan Maloney; ethical goblin

The State of Maine presented Maeghan Maloney with a law license in 1998 after she graduated from Harvard University School of Law.

It should be noted that Maeghan has had her significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past twenty-one years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Augusta area was about to offer her a good paying job.

The Maine Board of Bar Overseers is investigating Maeghan for engaging in the following misconduct.

• Engaged in illegal ex parte (one-sided) communications with trial judge Donald Marten
• Failed to act fairly when dealing with opposing counsel
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Violated defendant’s due process rights by engaging in illegal ex parte communications with trial judge
• Failed to disclose information to opposing counsel she was required to disclose
• Failed to properly discharge her professional obligation s
• Improper conduct caused actual harm to criminal defendant
• Conduct caused erosion of public confidence in proper prosecutorial discretion/conduct
• Illegal ex parte conversation with trial judge led to defendant’s conviction being overturned by appellate court

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Maeghan by the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maine Board of Bar Overseers.
