Gov. Bill Lee (R-TN): Today’s “Bigoted Moron” Award Winner

In November 2018, Billy duped the voters in Tennessee into electing him as their Governor.

While attending Auburn University in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Billy was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order, a fraternity at that time known for its use of Confederate imagery. A photo in the Auburn’s 1980 yearbook shows Billy the Bigot wearing a Confederate military uniform at the fraternity’s “Ol South” party.

To further establish his bona fides as a Bigot, Billy recently (ca. July 2019) signed a proclamation honoring former Confederate Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest. The shameful proclamation refers to Forrest as a “recognized military figure in American history and a native Tennessean.” However, Billy’s proclamation fails to mention Forrest’s disgraceful history, examples of which are set forth below.

• Had a leading role in massacre of black soldiers at Fort Pillow during Civil War
• Became wealthy as a cotton plantation owner and slave trader
• Two years after its founding, joined the Ku Klux Klan in 1867
• Elected first Grand Wizard of the KKK in Tennessee
• As Grand Wizard, Forrest was responsible for suppressing voting rights for blacks

Only a dyed-in-the-wool bigot would have ever considered honoring a traitor, slave owner and trader and the Grand Wizard of the KKK as did Billy the Bigot.

What’s next for Billy? Will he sign a proclamation honoring Tennessee’s most prominent Serial Killer Paul Reid known as “The Fast Food Killer?” In his proclamation honoring Reid, Billy would likely proclaim that the honor is being bestowed on Reid for his efforts to reduce obesity among Tennesseans eating in fast food restaurants like Captain D’s, McDonalds and/or Baskin-Robins.

FYI: Reid’s record of accomplishments that would like to endear him to Billy are as follows:

• Convicted of killing Sarah Jackson, 16, and manager, Steve Hampton, 25 during his robbery of a Captain D’s in Donelson, Tennessee
• Executed Andrea Brown 17; Ronald Santiago 27; and Robert A. Sewell while robbing a McDonald’s in Hermitage, Tennessee
• Slashed the throats of Angela Holmes, 21 and Michelle Mace, 16 after robbing a Baskin-Robbins in Clarksville

Hopefully, the good citizens of Tennessee will vote Billy out of office if he has the chutzpah to run for reelection.

As we speak (ca. July 2019), Billy the Bigot continues to sit as the Governor of Tennessee.
