Attorney Roger Morales of Denver; ethical troll

The state of Colorado presented Roger Daniel Morales with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law.

Disciplinary Counsel found Roger guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to maintain adequate financial records showing when his clients’ funds were placed in trust
• On several occasions, trial court issued several show cause orders due to Roger’s failure to comply with the case management order and for his failure to serve the biological parents in an ongoing custody matter
• Based on Roger’s failure to comply with show cause order, the client’s case was dismissed
• Never advised clients their case was dismissed due to his gross negligence
• Made several misrepresentations to his clients and their daughters over the next eight months when they inquired about the status of their case
• Lied to clients that dismissed case was moving forward
• Failed to protect client interests upon termination
• Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
• Intentionally misled clients by lying to them that the trial court had accepted an affidavit he filed concerning his attempts to locate the birth mother
• After receipt of upfront fee to obtain legal permanent residence for a client’s mother, the client did not hear from him for many months
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Roger by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license. 

As we speak (ca. June 2019), Roger practices with the Law Office of Roger D. Morales LLC at 6300 East Hampden Avenue in Denver, Colorado.
