Attorney Douglas Stein of Sacramento, CA; cheating loser

The state of California provided Douglas Edward Stein with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from the University of Pacific McGeorge School of Law.

The California State Bar Court found Doug guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Accepted advanced fees of $5,500 and advanced costs of $14,500 from a client in a wrongful termination case
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Withdrew client funds from client trust account for his personal use
  • After client fired Doug, none of the $14,500 had been spent on costs associated with client’s case
  • Failed to account for client funds
  • Failed to repay client funds owing to him
  • Ordered to pay restitution of $14,694.33 plus $1,650.00 in interest to his client [victim]

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the California State Bar Court punished Doug by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2019), Doug practices at 4601 P Street in Sacramento, California.
