Attorney Jay Schloff of West Bloomfield, MI; slacker, loser

The state of Michigan presented Jay M. Schloff with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Law.

The Tri-County Hearing Panel #63 found Jay guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to obtain informed client consent for limited-scope representation
  • Failed to promptly inform the client of any decision or circumstance with respect to which the client's informed consent was required
  • Failed to reasonably consult with the client about the means by which the client's objectives were to be accomplished
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to withdraw representation after being terminated
  • Failed to take reasonable steps to protect client interests upon termination

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Jay by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and assessed $757.50 in costs.

As we speak (ca. May 2019), Jay practices with Aidenbaum Schloff and Bloom PLLC at 6960 Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
