Attorney Gregory Johnston of Muscatine, IA; tax cheat, repeat offender

 

The state of Iowa presented Gregory Alan Johnston with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from Drake University of Iowa School of Law. 

 

The Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board found Greg guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Greg’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to timely file Iowa and Federal tax returns for five consecutive years

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court 

punished Greg by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Greg’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  • Improperly recommended his own employment
  • Improperly acquired proprietary interest in client property
  • Entered into business transaction with client when there were differing interests
  • Intentionally prejudiced or damaged a client
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Greg by gifting him with a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. April 2019), Greg practices at 323 East Second Street in Muscatine, Iowa.
