Attorney Brent Schafer of Savage, MN; ethical troll

The state of Minnesota presented Brent Schafer with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from Hamline University School of Law.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Brent guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to maintain trust account books and records
  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to promptly remit funds to a client
  • Allowed for trust-account shortages
  • Engaged in negligent misappropriation [theft] of client funds
  • Improperly made loans to clients

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Brent by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and assessed costs of $900.00.

As we speak (ca. April 2019), Brent practices with the Schafer Law Firm at 8646 Eagle Creek Circle in Savage, Minnesota.

As one would suspect, Brent fails to mention said misconduct on his self-serving website at www.schaferlawfirm.com. Apparently, Brent decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients so as to not limit his future victim pool.
