Attorney Michael Rosenberg of Brooklyn, NY; ethical gremlin

The state of New York presented Michael Geoffrey Rosenberg with a law license in 1984 after she graduated from Cardozo University School of Law.

The Judicial Department Committee on Professional Standards found Mikey guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Converted escrow funds entrusted to him as a fiduciary to pay for personal/office expenses
  • Withdrew legal fees in personal injury cases before depositing the corresponding settlement checks
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to maintain required escrow account records
  • Engaged in a pattern and practice of failing to file or failing to timely file retainer and closing statements with the Office of Court Administration

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Professional Standards Committee punished Mickey by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2019), Mikey practices at 1615 East 2nd Street in Brooklyn, New York.
