Attorney Robert J. Cantrell of Greenville, SC; moron, convict, ethical dwarf

 
The South Carolina Supreme Court presented Robert Joseph Cantrell with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from Regent University Law School.
 
The South Carolina Supreme Court found Bobby guilty of the following conduct that:
  1. Tended to pollute the administration of justice (These guys/gals are comedians, right?)
  2. Causing the courts and legal profession to brought into disrepute (More comedy!)
  3. Demonstrated unfitness to practice law (moron)
  4. Willfully violated a court order
  5. Failed to provide competent representation to client (Dumbo)
  6. Failed to make reasonable efforts expedite litigation on behalf of client
  7. Committed a criminal act reflect ing adversely on his trustworthiness (Pray tell!)
  8. Conduct constituted dishonesty, fraud and deceit
  9. Failed to promptly return property belonging to a third party
  10. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the fair administration of justice
  11. Engaged in the unauthorized practice of law in North Carolina
  12. Refused to provide requested information to Disciplinary Counsel
  13. Failed to disclose a material fact to a third person when disclosure was necessary to avoid assisting a fraudulent act by his client
  14. Guilty of contempt of court for willfully refusing to comply with court order to take a drug test
On one occasion Bobby was arrested and criminally charged with trespass. The homeowner was Bobby’s step-daughter who cont acted law enforcement after he refused to leave her residence. When the cops arrived, Bobby appeared to be drunk and repeatedly said he wasn’t going to leave. Despite several attempts by the cops to convince Bobby to leave voluntarily, including enlisting the aid of his wife, Bobby refused to leave. Leaving no alternative, Bobby was placed under arrest and transported to the detention center.
 
Subsequently, Bobby pleaded guilty to the criminal offense of trespass.
 
As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a two year suspension of his law license. In truth, Bobby should have been permanently disbarred.
 
As we speak (ca. Jan 2012) Bobby practices law at The Cooper Law Firm at 35 23 Pelham Road in Greenville.
