Attorney Mitchell Leavitt of New York City; ethical gremlin

The state of New York presented Mitchell L. Leavitt with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the Brooklyn School of Law.

The Judicial Department Committee on Professional Standards found Mitch guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  • Aided non-lawyer in the illegal practice of law
  • Shared fee with non-lawyer
  • Formed a corporation with a non-lawyer
  • Failed to properly supervise non-lawyer

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Professional Standards Committee punished Mitch by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2019), Mitch practices at 555 8th Avenue in New York, New York.
