Attorney Alan Solot of Tucson, AZ; ethical troll

The state of Arizona presented Alan R. Solot with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Arizona State University School of Law.

The Arizona State Bar found Alan guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to communicate with or respond appropriately to any of the people essential to promoting client’s interests
  • Failed to respond to client information requests
  • Failed to respond to client’s realtor who had a buyer interested in buying the client’s home
  • At one point the realtor scolded Alan in an email for his unprofessionalism in failing to respond to people important to his client’s legal matters.
  • Bankruptcy court dismissed client’s case due to Alan’s missing or inadequate filings
  • Failed to advise client of bankruptcy court dismissal of his case
  • Due to his gross negligence, client lost his business property, the property subject to the eminent domain case, his home, and any chance to sell assets, negotiate debts with creditors, and salvage anything for himself
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Alan!)
  • Knowingly abandoned his client
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Exhibited indifference to making restitution
  • Misconduct motivated by selfishness

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Alan’s First Bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary admonition for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Alan by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license and ordered to pay $2,155.28 for the costs of the ethics proceedings.

As we speak (ca. April 2019) Alan practices at 2701 East Speedway Blvd in Tucson, Arizona.
