Attorney Richard Dixon of Greenville, NC; ethical troll

The state of North Carolina provided Richard R. Dixon with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from the University of North Carolina Law School.

The Committee on Professional Conduct found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed in professional duty to confirm entrusted funds were accounted for and disbursed appropriately
  • Failure to adequately supervise office staff led to embezzlement of entrusted funds over period of three years
  • Failed to take remedial action re: embezzled funds until after ethics complaint filed against him
  • Misconduct impaired client’s ability to achieve goals of the representation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Dick.

As we speak (ca. October 2019) Dick practices with the Greenville Utilities Commission in Greenville, North Carolina.
