Attorney Bernard Udell of Brooklyn, NY; pompous loser

The state of New York provided Bernard H. Udell with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from St. John’s University  School of Law.

In one matter, Bernie and his wife Judge Bernadette Bayne (BB) sued the New York Post for libel over a 2014 article titled “Judge’s hubby takes space for prisoner van.”

Bernie and BB laughingly alleged that the Post article wrongly portrayed them as knowingly placing the public in danger by parking BB’s Mercedes in a “special area” behind the courthouse designated for prisoner transfers.

These two morons filed their lawsuit despite the fact that Bernie was caught on at least one occasion illegally parking the Mercedes behind the courthouse. In fact, he admitted he did so to make it easier for him to do his business at the courthouse. It would appear that he also played a little fast and loose with the truth when he claimed he would always obtain permission to park from the courthouse security. This claim was thoroughly refuted and debunked by courthouse staff.

Recently (ca. March 2019), the Court of Appeals told Bernie and BB to take a hike when they tossed out their frivolous libel suit. The appellate ruling upheld the trial court’s dismissal of the suit against three defendants: NYP Holdings; Christina Carrega-Woodby, the article author; and Ellis Kaplan, the photographer who snapped Bernie’s photo while he was illegally parking behind the courthouse.
