Judge Nana Makhubele of South Africa; ethical gremlin

The state of West Virginia presented William Warner Roberts with a law license in 1999 after she graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand School of Law.

A commuter activist group #UniteBehind has filed a complaint with the Judicial Conduct Committee of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) alleging that Judge Makhubele is guilty of the following misconduct.

• Breached code of “separation of powers” for being chairperson of the board of Passenger Rail Association of South Africa (PRASA)
• Disrupted litigation during her time as chairperson of PRASA
• Engaged in a conflict of interest
• In late 2018, Gauteng High Court ruled that Judge Makhubele had ordered PRASA lawyers to not defend the company against legal action that result in R56m ($4.1 million) being seized from PRASA
• Pushed for a R500m ($36 million) investment into VBS bank without any agreement being signed

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Judge Makhubele by the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Service Commission.
