Attorney R. Scott Gardner of Sedalia, MO; ethical gremlin

The state of Missouri presented R. Scott Gardner with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from the Vanderbilt University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Scottie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Knowingly violated a court order
• Improperly paid himself fees prior to the final settlement of an estate
• Paid himself total claimed fees despite court approval that he only receive half of said fees

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on Disciplinary Counsel punished Scottie by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 6-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on Disciplinary Counsel didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Scottie.
