Attorney William Holt of Cranston, RI; lying loser

The State of Rhode Island  presented William F. Holt with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from the Western New England University School of Law.

The Statewide Grievance Committee found Billy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Willfully failed to follow proper procedure to obtain modification of an existing court order
  • Failed to expedite client litigation
  • Failed to notify the opposing party that he was seeking to obtain modification of existing court order
  • Presented a proposed order to the magistrate judge that falsely claimed to have been agreed upon by the parties
  • Misled trial court and therefore gained unfair advantage for his client
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Interfered with the proper administration of justice
  • Wrongfully retrieved divorce documents, including automatic court orders
  • Neglected to protect client’s rights to the pension benefits the court awarded to her in the final decree of divorce
  • Did nothing for almost ten years to protect client’s interests and only took action when he was prodded by the client to so act relating to her right to court-awarded pension benefits
  • Engaged in a persistent pattern of deceiving judges before whom he appeared
  • Committed multiple acts of misconduct
  • Actually sabotaged the administration of justice
  • Chose a course of action to win at all costs
  • Repeatedly disregard the procedural and ethical rules designed to provide for fair court proceedings

As a direct consequence of his egregious misconduct, enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Rhode Island Supreme Court punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2019), Billy practices at 1215 Reservoir Avenue in Cranston, Rhode Island.
