The Massachusetts Supreme Court presented Ronald L. Brandt with a law license in 1982.
 
The State Bar filed misconduct charges against Ronnie for his mishandling of a client’s medical malpractice claim.
 
The Bar found Ronnie guilty of the following misconduct in regards to the malpractice claim, which took place after the client provided him with copies of his medical records.
  • Ronnie decided to not pursue the client’s case
  • Ronnie never notified the client of his decision to not pursue his malpractice claim
  • Failed to return the client’s medical records to him as requested
  • He failed to take any action to prevent the statute of limitations from tolling on the client’s medical malpractice claim
  • For a period of almost three years, Ronnie never communicated with the client
  • When the client finally went to Ronnie’s office, he was told for the first time that no lawsuit had ever been filed
As a result of Ronnie’s conduct, the client was prohibited from ever filing a medical malpractice lawsuit.
 
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits in Massachusetts sitting on the State Bar punished Ronnie by gifting him with a reprimand.
