Judge Jacqueline Flores of Albuquerque, NM; ethical goblin

The State of New Mexico provided Terry M. Tanner with a law license in 1981 after she graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Law.

The Judicial Standards Commission found Judge Flores guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Committed willful misconduct in office
  • Misrepresented her identity when called by a police detective to review an arrest warrant and by refusing to review the warrant
  • when she was the on-call judge
  • Demonstrated a lack of credibility in her dealings with the Commission
  • Failed to take responsibility for the actions found by the Commission to comprise willful misconduct
  • Demonstrated a lack of remorse for the actions found by the Commission to comprise willful misconduct (Screw you, said Jackie!)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the New Mexico Supreme Court punished Judge Torres by gifting her with a complimentary censure and a $1,000 fine

As we speak (ca. December 2018), Jackie continues to sit as a Second Judicial District Court judge in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
