Judge Sarah Singleton of Santa Fe, NM; ethical dwarf

The State of New Mexico provided Sarah M. Singleton with a law license in 1992 after she graduated from the University of Indiana School of Law.

The Judicial Standards Commission found Judge Singleton guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Permitted and engaged in ex parte communications involving substantive matters with an attorney in a case pending before her, and that this conduct
  • Engaged in conduct that created an appearance of impropriety

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the New Mexico Supreme Court punished Judge Singleton by gifting her with a complimentary censure and a $1,000 fine

As we speak (ca. December 2018), Sarah continues to sit as a First Judicial District Court judge in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
