Judge David Porter of Allegany, NY; ethical leprechaun
The New York Judicial Commission found Davey guilty of the following misconduct.
-
Failed to disqualify himself from presiding over three matters arising out of a boundary dispute involving his
-
neighbor's daughter
-
Engaged in illegal ex parte (one-sided) discussions with his neighbor regarding dispute involving his daughter
-
Adjourned criminal arraignment so defendant could attend Buffalo Bills football practice
-
Took no action on repeated requests for protection order against Bills player
-
Arraigned Bills football player for allegedly striking complainant with a hammer; however, refused to issue an order of protection against the hammer-wielding professional football player
As a direct consequence of his conduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Davey by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.
As we speak (ca. December 2018), Davey continues to sit as a Justice of the Allegany Town Court, Cattaraugus County, New York.
