Former Judge Allen Jarasitis of Reading, MA; ethical troll

The State of Massachusetts provided Allen Jarasitis with a law license in 1968 after he graduated from the University of Massachusetts School of Law.

The Massachusetts Judicial Commission found Allen guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in illegal ex parte (one-sided) discussions with another judge involving Allen’s own personal interests
  • Violated prohibition against volunteering to be a character witness
  • Improperly provided information about a pending case to another judge in an overt attempt to influence the outcome of the proceedings
  • Failed to respect and comply with the law

As a direct consequence of his conduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Allen by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand along with a two-month suspension from the bench without pay.

As we speak (ca. December 2018), Allen continues to sit as a Associate justice of the District Court Department, Charleston Division in Reading, Massachusetts.
