Attorney Brian Sunderland of Portland, OR; thief, moron, serial offender

 

The state of Washington presented Brian J. Sunderland with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law.

 

The Washington State Bar found Brian guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Brian’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Neglected client’s adoption matter over the course of three years

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Brian by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

 

Brian’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to maintain complete and accurate records of clients’ funds
  • Assisted a client in fraudulent conduct
  • Disregarded an order of the court
  • Engaged in improper ex parte (one-sided) communication with the court
  • Violated the rules on vicarious responsibility for another lawyer’s conduct
  • Failed to maintain clients ‘funds in trust
  • Assisted a client in conduct that he knew to be illegal or fraudulent
  • Disregarded or advised client to disregard a standing rule of a tribunal
  • Failed to deposit and maintain client funds in one or more identifiable trust accounts
  • Failed to maintain complete records of all funds, securities, and other properties of a client coming into his possession
  • Failed to render appropriate accountings to clients as to client funds/properties/securities
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Brian by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

 

Brian’s 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to provide competent representation (moron)
  • Collected an illegal and excessive (thief)
  • Engaged in conflicts of interest
  • Failed to disclose that which he knew he was required by law to reveal,
  • Failed to maintain complete records of client funds
  • Neglected of a legal matter entrusted to him
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Made misleading statements of material facts to ethics investigators (Screw you, said Brian!)

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Brian by gifting him with a complimentary 33-month suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. March 2019), Brian practices at 219 SW Stark Street in Portland, Oregon.
