Attorney Cathy Guthrie of Mill Creek, WA; ethical goblin

The state of Washington presented Cathy Lynn Guthrie with a law license in 1992 after she graduated from the University of Puget Sound School of Law.

The Washington State Bar found Cathy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Improperly removed disputed funds from her trust account w/o establishing her entitlements to said funds
• Deposited $2,500 check into her account without client’s endorsement
• Only after the client filed a grievance and at disciplinary counsel’s suggestion, Cathy then returned the disputed funds to her trust account

As a consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Cathy by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. March 2019), Cathy practices with The Guthrie Law Firm at 914 164^th Street SE in Mill Creek, Washington.
